One of the locations present in Killzone 3, Vigilant Base is a Helghast military/industrial installation present within the arctic regions of the planet Helghan. Situated at the mouth of a small harbour, the base is comprised of numerous off-shore platforms connected by bridges, as well as some central structures on land, all of which are under the control of forces loyal to Jorhan Stahl. While it is unknown what the facility was originally designed for, it does possess an extensive system of pipes for transporting petrusite around the base, suggesting that it may have been constructed to harvest the valuable element.
