Dirk Templar was an ISA soldier and the father of Jan Templar.
History[]
Dirk was born on Vekta, and at some point joined the ISA. He married an unknown woman, with whom he had a child named Jan Templar, born in 2329. His wife died when Jan was very young. Dirk developed a friendship with the commanding officer of his regiment, Bradley Vaughton, who became a friend of the family.
Dirk then died during the First Vektan War, leaving his boy without parents. Vaughton felt responsible for young Jan, and took the boy under his wing. Jan received his values from his mentor, godfather, and friend. Vaughton became aware of Templar's extraordinary potential, and enrolled him in the ISA military academy early.
